Book lovers, this one’s for you!

Little Free Library Week returns May 17–23, 2026 with a full week dedicated to sharing books, supporting literacy, and celebrating the neighborhood book-sharing boxes found across communities everywhere.

This year is especially exciting because May 17 has officially been declared National Little Free Library Day.

Families can celebrate in several fun and simple ways throughout the week:

Share a Book

Drop off a favorite read at a Little Free Library near you or pick up a new story to enjoy together. You can find nearby Little Free Libraries using the free Little Free Library app.

Enter the #LFLweek Photo Contest

Snap a photo at your favorite Little Free Library and share it on social media using the hashtag #LFLweek for a chance to win prizes, including $50 ThriftBooks gift cards.

Play Little Free Library BINGO

Explore your neighborhood while completing Little Free Library-themed BINGO activities. Families who share their completed BINGO cards during the contest period may also be eligible for prizes.

Celebrate Reading Together

Whether you visit one library or several, Little Free Library Week is a great excuse to slow down, explore your community, and encourage a love of reading with your kids.

Little Free Libraries are open 24/7 and are always free to use: take a book, leave a book, or both.

To learn more and download the Little Free Library BINGO card, visit the Little Free Library website.
