DESCRIPTION:Summer pool days are almost here\, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is helping families prepare with a free Water Safety & Swim Assessment Event happening Saturday\, May 23\, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at participating YMCA locations across Dallas. \nThis free family event gives children the opportunity to complete a swim assessment with a certified swim instructor while learning important water safety skills ahead of summer. \nDuring the event\, kids will participate in: \n\nA swim assessment with a certified instructor\nA brief hands-on water safety lesson\nSelf-rescue skill guidance\nPersonalized swim recommendations\n\nParents will also receive water safety education and take-home resources including a family pledge card and Water Watcher tag. \nThe event is open to all skill levels\, whether your child is brand new to swimming or already comfortable in the water. \nParticipating Dallas locations include: \n\nWhite Rock YMCA\nLake Highlands Family YMCA\nMoorland YMCA at Oak Cliff\nMoody Family YMCA\nPark South Family YMCA\nSemones Family YMCA\n\nAdditional YMCA locations outside of Dallas are also participating.
