Free Swim Safety & Swim Assessment Event at Dallas YMCA Locations

Summer pool days are almost here, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is helping families prepare with a free Water Safety & Swim Assessment Event happening Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at participating YMCA locations across Dallas.
This free family event gives children the opportunity to complete a swim assessment with a certified swim instructor while learning important water safety skills ahead of summer.
During the event, kids will participate in:
- A swim assessment with a certified instructor
- A brief hands-on water safety lesson
- Self-rescue skill guidance
- Personalized swim recommendations
Parents will also receive water safety education and take-home resources including a family pledge card and Water Watcher tag.
The event is open to all skill levels, whether your child is brand new to swimming or already comfortable in the water.
Participating Dallas locations include:
- White Rock YMCA
- Lake Highlands Family YMCA
- Moorland YMCA at Oak Cliff
- Moody Family YMCA
- Park South Family YMCA
- Semones Family YMCA
